Your Moving Questions — Answered Straight

Real answers about pricing, timing, protection, and how we make moving less stressful for Boca Raton residents.

What's the best time of year to move in Boca Raton?

Spring and fall tend to be milder, but summer is our busiest season. If you’re moving between May and August, book at least three weeks ahead. Winter moves often have more flexible scheduling and slightly lower rates.

How do I know which crew size is right for me?

A 1-bedroom apartment typically needs 2 movers. A 2-3 bedroom house usually requires 3 movers. For 4+ bedrooms or heavy items like pianos, go with 4-5 movers. We can help you decide during a free phone or on-site estimate.

Do you charge extra for stairs or elevators?

No. We never add fees for walk-ups, elevators, or long carries. The hourly rate you see is the rate you pay — no surprises for third-floor apartments or high-rise buildings.

What should I do with valuables on moving day?

Keep jewelry, cash, important documents, prescription medications, and laptops with you personally — not on the truck. We recommend transporting those items in your own vehicle.

Can you move my plants or pets?

We cannot transport live plants or animals due to insurance and safety regulations. Plants can sometimes go in your personal car. Pets should travel with you or a trusted sitter.

How do you protect my floors and walls?

We lay down heavy-duty floor runners (ram board and adhesive film) at every entry point. We also use corner guards on door frames and wall protectors in tight hallways.

Do I need to empty my dresser drawers?

Not completely. Light items like clothes, linens, and towels can stay inside. Remove heavy items like books, electronics, or kitchenware that would make the dresser too heavy to lift safely.

What happens if my move goes longer than expected?

You pay only for the actual time worked, rounded to 15-minute increments. If a move takes longer due to unexpected challenges (e.g., freight elevator delays or weather), we communicate openly and never rush.

Can you move a safe or gun safe?

Yes, but we need to know ahead of time. Safes require special equipment (dollies, straps, sometimes a lift gate) and extra crew members. We’ll confirm feasibility during your estimate.

Do you offer weekend or holiday moving?

Yes. Saturdays and Sundays are available year-round. Holiday moves (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, etc.) can be booked but fill up quickly — reserve at least three weeks in advance.

How do you handle interstate moves with different state laws?

We comply with FMCSA regulations for all long-distance moves. Your coordinator will explain your rights under federal moving rules, provide a “Ready to Move” brochure, and ensure all paperwork is clear before loading.

What if my new building has strict elevator or loading dock rules?

Tell us when you book. We’ll coordinate with building management, reserve time slots, and provide certificates of insurance if required. We’ve worked with hundreds of Boca Raton buildings and know the local requirements.

Can I add extra items on moving day?

Small additions (a few boxes or a chair) are usually fine. Large additions (an entire room of furniture) may change the truck size or crew time. We’ll adjust the estimate transparently before loading anything extra.

Do you provide moving boxes and how do I get them?

We sell box kits (small, medium, large, wardrobe, dish packs) delivered to your door 3-5 days before your move. Unused, unassembled boxes can be returned for a refund. We also sell used boxes at a discount when available.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled move for a full refund of any deposit. Cancellations within 48 hours may forfeit a small deposit to cover crew scheduling costs. Same-day cancellations or no-shows are charged a minimum trip fee.

How do you handle moves during Boca Raton's hurricane season?

We monitor weather alerts closely. If a tropical storm or hurricane is projected for your move date, we’ll contact you 24-48 hours in advance to reschedule at no penalty. Safety is always our first priority.

Can you move just a few items, not a whole house?

Absolutely. We offer small moves, single-item moves (piano, pool table, safe), and load/unload help for rental trucks or portable containers. Minimum two hours applies, but we can often handle small jobs in 2-3 hours.
